HOMOEROTIC MASCULINITY LITERATURE IN BLASCO IBANEZ' "THE INTRUDER", SPAIN 1904

"The doctor felt that those who slept eight men were friends in common, were compatriots, linked by birth and adventures of their annual pilgrimage: and his thought was going to other houses of laborers,as wretched as this, where men lying on the same bed had not ever seen where the unhappy boy, fresh from their land, sleeping in contact with an individual with one that also had just arrived at the mine, maybe just out of prison for a crime or fugitive. Foreign bodies came together under the same sticky roof, the meat is rubbed against another sweaty flesh, perhaps sick of dangerous infections. And this promiscuity, under the same blanket, old and young, innocent wild men of his land newcomers and veterans of the wandering life, aware of all corruption, was made in the midst of a forced abstinence from meat, in a country wherethe conditions of work, men are much more numerous than women, and the continued influx ofconvicts discharged all criminals brought with virility isolated aberrations."
"But Aresti ignored the maid and left tackle for the man, saying to himself: "What a magnificent animal!" Trembled for his hand, when the giant grabbed one of his claws and thick calloused fingers. Under his shirt is betrayed at every movement an athlete's muscles developed through work. Stoned face and huge, Aresti reminded of the giants of the celebrations of Bilbao, who had admired in his childhood."

"The first thing the doctor saw was a hand stretched out towards him, a steady hand, hairy yet beautiful, a prehistoric hero's mighty hand, that would have seemed to belong to a much greater, provided body. And that Aresti's cousin was so high that he almost surpassed the entire head, a head that knew the whole town, head manfully shaven, broad forehead and calm eyes that poured down a cold light. A beautiful patriarchal beard that covered the lapels of the suit seemed to soften the outgoing energetic and strong cheekbones of his jaw joints strong and prominent as the animals of prey. His beard was gray hair, gray hair, and yet it seemed wrap a halo of youth, strength, serenity, calm and tenacious energy, which is communicated to those around him. He was handsome as primitive men who fought the hostile nature, with wild beasts, with peers, with no help that muscle energy and thought, and ended by taking possession of the world. Aresti, recalling the two Alcides with the club in hand, and the superb musculature air guard to give the blazon of arms of the province, said talking about him, "My cousin has escaped from the shield of Biscay."

HANDSOME CRIMINAL OR THE MAKING OF A NEW "TOY" MODEL

No, it's not about concerning to hot-looking serial killers... yet, but I was with the idea of making a Palanca Toy from the very beginning I adopted the artist's name "Palanca". First it was the cutouts, then I wanted some latex toys I never performed. Accidentaly later, I found a cheaper but more delicate way of working like the mattress foam, and lately I was only thinking some less risky material since I could be allergic to foam (specially when I'm trimming it!). I want to work on sewing pattern design... but for making toys only! That's why I'm trying to figure it out with the measurements and geometry... boy, it's a science! The human face itself is some sort of complicated architecture... I need help, can someone like craftworkers, toymakers, cloth pattern makers (tailors?) please contact me? palanca_feet@yahoo.com I'll really appreciate your help!

Jay Bone's Blond Fuzzy Hood now on cardboard!

(to see a BETTER VIEW, please OPEN IMAGE IN A NEW WINDOW!)

Some months ago I felt inspired by a drawing from -known artist Jay Bone. His style is focused on cartoon characters created by himself, and I love the dynamics in ruff sketches in cartoons. He and I don't use to draw blond guys, but the one that inspired him (one blond guy from real life) also indirectly inspired me! He captured the essential appeal in a man that I didn't want to modify that much, I only added the details I use to add and also added him legs and bare feet, of course! Jay's sketches and colourful finished drawings are always a celebration:

A Jay Bone Classic Needs to be Honoured with a Palanca Version!!!

Some days ago I found an amazing drawing made by artist Jay Bone, of a handsome blond guy wearing an open hood showing his furry chest. I was so impacted that I felt the need to work on my own version of this. I almost do him exactly as the original, only I added him legs and feet. Hope Jay don't get mad at me for doing this, I put his credits in my sign, so I'm not stealing his work. This is only a computer coloured sample. I need to work on a truly coloured piece, after leaving all that stuff I have pendant. Cheers to all talented artists like Jay Bone, his blogsite is http://bonesmen.blogspot.com
Suggestion: To have a better, closer look, save the picture or open picture's link to a new window...

AIDS CAMPAIGN: USE YOUR HEAD

I finally finished the 2nd Poster. The last one and this one both are large sized. I never worked on those sizes and I find it really stimulating to work by moving my whole arms the way I did in the very remote past, when I was attending at some drawing workshop around 1990-1991. Do you remember Opus III? I listened to "It's a Fine Day" while working on this drawing. I should do the same with the rest of my pending work. Also I will exhibit this and the other canvas in an hour. Everything for the AIDS Day...

FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS... AIDS/HIV CAMPAIGN

This is my first attempt of an HIV/AIDS poster, tomorrow this canvas, with many other canvases will be taken to Parque de la Exposicion. There will be a sort of demonstration... I wanted it to be in the main square because that's where the Cathedral is and also the homophobic archbishop (even he looks like a repressed drag) but anyways, this will be another challenge for me by confronting my views with people.

ROADHEAD DAVE

Here is my last drawing, a sexy, handsome masculine canadian man who is a flickr user and I wanted to make him a drawing from a long time ago. So I finally made my first attempt. Also I never told him I was working on a drawing for him. So I hope he likes it, and if not, I am ready for his observations to have an improved work next time.
